Hello! My name is Dr. Leslie Cuevas.
I am probably just like you. I feel a call to medicine. I love helping patients. And I have struggled with maintaining a work-life balance.
I worked most of my career in a traditional model of practicing medicine (taking insurance, seeing 20+ patients a day, 15 minute time slots and several month wait for new patients). I seemed to always be charting at home!! (Who can relate?). But I created something different.… A cash pay micro practice. Now, I spend 30 to 60 minutes with each patient. I see 6 to 10 patients a day. I can see a new patient within a couple of weeks. And I am not always charting at home!!
How did I get here? In 2018, my dream began, but I had no model for a private rheumatology practice that saw less patients and spent more time with them. I talked to so many smart doctors in my area who had started their own practice. I picked their brains. I absorbed their encouragement. I made a unique plan. And I set off on a journey that was incredibly exciting (and terrifying). Some people thought I would fail. Some people thought it was too big of a risk, (especially as a single mom). But I believed that this model would work. I opened Cuevas Center for Arthritis and Fibromyalgia (a cash pay/fee for service micropractice) in January 2019.
Over the years I received phone calls from physicians in my area. Some were just curious about my practice model and others asked for my assistance in opening their own cash pay practice. I realized that encouraging and assisting my colleagues gave me incredible energy and enthusiasm. And I realized that my unique experience was invaluable to them!

I developed this consulting practice so that I can help doctors explore the possibility of and/or launch a cash pay practice. I bring experience, honesty, respect and availability to my clients. How does it work? Simple-if you need me, I am here for you. There is no large retainer or minimum charge. I simply charge by the hour for my time. Bottom line – this is your future practice! You decide your budget and how much or little you need me.
